  • Job requirements are as follows and may very per position.

  • Standing: 
    • All job duties are performed standing. 7 hrs. 5 min per day
  • Sitting:
    • Breaks and lunch 55 mins.
  • Moving:
    • Constantly moving around machines. Machines are approx. 58 to 61 feet in length.
  • Climbing:
    • None
  • Lifting: Depending on the job could include:
    • Lifting packages of yarn, rubber or core weighing 3 to 6 lbs.
    • Lifting spools weighing up to 3-3 ½ lbs. and supply packages weighing approx. 10-11 lbs. (Spools 600-700 per shift) (Supply packages 50-75 per shift)
  • Pushing: Depending on the job could include:
    • Pushing buggies of spools weighing 750 lbs. to machines. Pushing down and locking spool caps 1200 – 1400 times per shift to get the spools off and back on.
    • Moving or pushing spool buggies weighing approx. 250 lbs. Note: most occurrences are distance of less than 3’
  • Reaching: Depending on the job could include:
    • Reaching 6 ft. high to take down packages on a machine
    • Reaching into 3” high box to get supply rubber approx. 15 to 20 times.
    • Reaching approx. 72” from floor to retrieve spools from truck, reach and get supply yarn off a buggy, up to 72” from floor.
  • Visual Acuity: 
    • Must be able to determine single cover and colors.
  • Bending: depending on the job could include:
    • You bend and stoop 5 to 6 inches from floor level; Bend to get lower spool, supply rubber or core 16” inches from the floor.
    • Bend to get lower spool, supply rubber or core 16” inches from the floor. Rest knee on floor or stoop down to tie an end up.
    • Bending within 12” from floor level to get lower spools on buggies and to tie supply package up.
  • Other:
    • Keep an end count of how many ends you have down at the beginning and end of the shift. Also do random hand checks on your machines.
  • Mandatory:
    • Must be able to read and write.
    • Must be able to follow written and verbal job instructions.
